Notably, Huanggang is the only place in the southeast of Guizhou Province where the "Goddess of Thunder Worship Festival"(Han Tian Jie 喊天节) is celebrated. On the fifteenth day of the sixth lunar month, villagers will gather in the center of the village to play lusheng, sing songs, dance, and offer prayers to the sky.
