10 Days Exotic Guizhou Tour, Minority Culture & Landscape

Welcome to Guizhou! You will be met by your driver at the airport and then transferred to the hotel to have check-in. Have a good rest and the rest of the day will be free for you to explore the city by yourself.

Today after breakfast, drive about 2.5 hours to get to the famed Huangguoshu Waterfall, which is the biggest waterfall in China and even in Asia. Then visit Tianxingqiao Scenic Area which is composed of Natural Bonsai Garden, Tianxing Cave and Stone Forest in Water.

Thereafter, come to the highlight today -- Huangguoshu Waterfall. The water is just like a curtain, through which you even cannot see the stones behind it! It was the filming location of the famous Chinese drama -- . Walk for a while, come to Doupotang Waterfall, which top is the widest among all the waterfalls of Huangguoshu.

Later in the day, drive to Anshun to have overnight stay.

Enjoy your breakfast in the hotel and we will drive to Libo. The first sight we will visit is Qingyan Ancient Town. Its history can be traced back to Ming dynasty, 600 years ago, and was built for military use. Highlights of this town is the old buildings and various street food.

Visit Longmen Town in the afternoon. It is a water town that is famous for its stunning night scenery and legends. Enjoy you time in the town by strolling around or have a cup of tea in the tea house.

After visiting, drive to Libo to stay overnight.

Enjoy your buffet breakfast in the hotel. Today we will have a wonderful day to explore both natural and cultural treasures of Guizhou.

We will pay a visit to Daqikong Scenic Area in the morning. It got its name from the ancient Daqikong Brige which in Chinese means the arch bridge has 7 holes on the body. You will have an excellent view of forest, gorges, streams and lakes there.

After lunch, go to the Xiaoqikong Scenic Area. The name is very similar to Daqikong as it also derived from another 7 holes arch bridge inside. Highlights of this sight are the various beautiful waterfalls and streams.

Then drive to Xijiang before night falling. We will enter Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village to have a fantastic night scenery which is beyond your imagination! when night falls, don’t be shocked, the dotted small lights in somewhere you didn’t noticed will suddenly be lighted up! And the whole valley will be changed into a fairyland for a second! Beauty is everything that Xijiang Miao Village responses to you. Enjoy the lovely hidden gem!

Be waken up by the bird singing and fresh morning breeze in the village. Then enjoy your breakfast in the hotel. Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is an open air museum with more than 1000 Miao households in the area. It is also the biggest Miao village in the world. You will experience the most authentic and original Miao culture here no matter what you are interested in, Diaojiaolou or Miao silver.

We will stroll around the beautiful and exotic village to feel the charms of Miao culture. You can try the Miao traditional costumes to take photos and also learn and try to make the Miao style glutinous rice cake.

Lunch is a Miao Feast served on a very long table. That is the highest standard of feast used to treat the most honorable guests by the Miao people. Enjoy your meal and the hospitality of local Miao people.

Afterwards, drive to Rongjiang and we will have our exploration there to know more about Dong people!

Today we will explore the Dali Dong Village. Once entered the village, the first thing come into our view is the drum-tower and wind & rain bridge. They are the typical architecture of Dong nationality and almost built in all the Dong villages. Mortise-Tenon structural is used commonly in Dong architectures which does not use nails at all. Have been existing for more than 600 years, each part of the village is the witness of the vicissitudes of this region.

After lunch, drive about 2 hours to get to Congjiang and we will visit another Miao village - Biasha Miao Village. This village is quite unique as it is the only place in China that the residents are allowed to hold guns! It is said Biasha people are the decedents of Chi You who is the opponent of Emperor Huang. After being defeated by Emperor Huang, Chi You and his followers escaped to the mountains in Biasha and continue their life of hunting farming. Stroll around this peaceful village and feel the unique Miao culture.

Later in the day, Drive to Zhaoxing to stay overnight

After enjoying your breakfast in the hotel, we will head to Zhaoxing to visit other amazing minority villages. The first stop is Zhaoxing Dong Village which is the largest Dong village in southeast Guizhou and is regarded as one of the 6 most beautiful ancient towns in China by Chinese National Geography. Drum towers are the highlight of this village. It has 5 drum towers with different style and they were listed into the Guinness World Records. Thereafter, head to Zhaoxing Dong Culture Museum to know better about Dong people and Dong culture.

Thereafter, we will pay a visit to another Dong village - Tang'an Dong Village and you can choose to drive or hike to the destination. If you prefer walking to the village, it will take about 2 hours of easy hiking. Hiking there is the most popular way of feeling the beauty of the village as you will be very close to nature and the locals. Standing in the rice terraces to take as many wonderful pictures as possible and visit the local families to feel their hospitality and enthusiasm. Tang’an Dong Village is called the living museum of Dong culture where to know the most authentic life style of Dong people.

After visiting drive to Zhenyuan Ancient Town to stay overnight.

In the morning after breakfast, we will star to explore Zhenyuan Ancient Town. The ancient town is more than 2000 yeas of history and it is well-known for the ancient buildings built in Ming and Qing dynasty (from late 14th century to early 20th century). We visit the Black Dragon Cave upon arrival. It is more than a cave as you will see many ancient building complex of temples, pavilions and palaces in side or around the cave!

In the afternoon, walk into the heart of the ancient town to visit the Tin Hau Temple with a architectural style of south Fujian. Not far from the temple is the Zhenjiang Pavilion which was built about 400 years ago. The name Zhenjiang means to make the Wuyang River peaceful. The temple and pavilion has been standing here for hundreds of years to witness the vicissitudes of the town. You can stroll around the Sifangjing Alley later to feel the local life pace.

Afterwards, drive to Fanjingshan Mountain to have a good rest.

After breakfast, we will head to Fanjingshan Mountain! Fanjingshan National Nature Preserve is a newly born UNESCO World Heritage that was just been listed in 2018. The unique karst landscape and the peculiarly-shaped mountains formed by nature in the past 1.4 billion years make it won the reputation. Other than the fantastic landscapes, the Buddhist culture in this mountain is also profound and is said to be the residence place of Maitreya Buddha. It is regarded as the fifth Buddhist mountain in China after Mt. Wutai, Mt. Putuo, Mt. Emei and Mt. Jiuhua. We will take the shuttle bus from the east gate to the entrance of taking cable car. Then have a very easy hiking to the Mushroom Stone and have a break. Thereafter, walk about 30 minutes to get to the Old Golden Summit. If your energy permits, you can even go to the Red Clouds Golden Summit to appreciate the scenery of “space in the sky”.

Today after enjoying your buffet breakfast in the hotel you will be transferred to the airport and catch the flight home. Wish you a pleasant journey and hope to say you again in your next China tour!
