Day 1Xiamen Arrival

Today, you will take the flight to Xiamen, the capital city of Fujian. Upon arrival, we will meet you at the airport, and help check in your hotel. Have a good rest.

Day 2Gulangyu Sightseeing

In the morning, take a 20-minute boat trip to Gulangyu to experience the culture of overseas Chinese, and appreciate exotic architectures before visiting Hi Heaven, which is the largest old villa on the island where you can enjoy ancient South Music performance and traditional Puppet Show. Also pay a short visit Shuzhuang Garden, a beautiful seaside garden and the famous Piano Museum with a collection of 80-fold rare old pianos from all over the world. Then take the ferry back to Xiamen.

In the late afternoon visit Xiamen Botancial Garden. Transfer back to hotel after the tour

Day 3Xiamen-Anxi

After buffet breakfast, get yourself ready for Anxi trip by 1.5 hours driving , known for Tieguanyin, and the hometown of Oolong tea. It is exciting to discover how tea is made by visiting Bama Tea Garden and Factory, which is one of the leading tea manufacturers in the region. While walking around the garden, have a taste of various Oolong tea.

After lunch, head to Tea Capital, the largest wholesale market of Tieguanyin (Oolong Tea) in China, also visit Chenghuangmiao in Anxi (Old City God Temple), the oldest and most influential Taoism temple. Transfer back to hotel in Xiamen after the tour.

Day 4Xiamen-Quanzhou

Breakfast at the hotel, then we will drive to South Putuo Temple on the Island Ring Road along the East Coast of Xiamen. It is the most famous Buddhist temple in Fujian. Then to Quanzhou, once an international port city on the maritime Silk Route. Marco Polo described it as "one of the ports of the world with the biggest flow of merchandise".

In the after, we will Visit Kaiyuan Temple, and the nearby East & West Pagoda, said to be the best preserved stone pagodas in China. If interested, have a look at Qingjing Mosque, the oldest Mosque in China. Also drop by Guandi Temple in Xunpu Village, an oyster village 10km southeast of Quanzhou, known for its traditional houses built with oyster shells and women with unique dress. Back to Xiamen after the Tours.

Day 5Xiamen-Nanjing Tulou

An Exciting day for Nanjing Tulou trips rated as World Culture Heritage! The trip starts with Tianluokeng Tulou, located in Shangban Village, complex earthen houses with four round and one rectangular style, is one of the most magnificent and well-preserved Hakka Castles in the area. Then to Yuchanglou located in Xiaban Village. The oldest five-story earth building is most famous for its tilted pillars and slanted angles at 15-degree.  Yuchanglou has been more than 600 years yet still remains intact.

After lunch, head to Taxia Village, an exquisite Hakka village with more than 20 earthen buildings of different shapes along a brook flowing through the entire village. Another major attraction is Zhang's Clan Ancestral Hall next to a pond with 20 stone flagpoles rise like a stone forest, listed among the key culture relics protected under national level.

Last stop is Chengqilou, located in Gaobei Village, about 5 km away from Hongkeng Tulou, Chengqilou is made up of four concentric circular buildings with more than 300 history. This King of Round Earth Building has altogether 400 rooms and used to house 80 families.

Day 6Nanjing-Yongding

One more day for Tulou trip.

Nice breakfast makes a good start of a day. So first stop is to visit Chuxi Tulou Cluster, 15 km away from Xiayang Town. It includes five large circular buildings and ten rectangular buildings. Jiqinglou is the oldest and most special round earth buildings in this area, equipped with 72 stairways, and 206 rooms constructed by wood and rabbet structure.

Afterwards, it is worthy to visit Yanxianglou, built during the Qing Dynasty and located in Nanxi. The interior has a luxurious layout and scholarly atmosphere, and the gate and fence were designed to imitate a dragon's head and body.

In the late afternoon, to explore Huanjilou, built in Grand Emperor Kangxi's reign. In 1918 it withstood an earthquake measuring 6.2 and used as the base by the Red Army of China. Stay in Nanjing overnight

Day 7Nanjing-Nanping

Enjoy the tasty breakfast then head to Shiqiao Village, located in the mountain area along a deep and long valley with 400 meters above the sea level. Shiqiao is a mountain village with many interesting Tulou houses.

Another must visit is Hekeng Tulou Cluster located in Shuyang Town. It is extremely extensive and impressive cluster consists of 27 earthen houses and also one of the 10 Tulous inscribed as World Culture Heritage.

Day 8Mount Wuyi

A full day to explore Mount Wuyi, a World Natural and Cultural Heritage Site. First enjoy floating down along the Nine Twists Stream on bamboo rafts between two sides of the mountain. Then pay a short visit Wuyi Palace on Song Street. The trip ends up with visiting Dahongpao Scenic Area (Big Red Robe Scenic Area) to see the plantation of the Dahongpao tea trees.

Day 9Wuyishan

In the morning, visit Xiamei Village located in the east of Wuyishan City, 8 kilometers away from Wuyishan Scenic spot. Human activities could be traced down in the Shang and Zhou dynasties, and flourished in the Qing Dynasty through thousands of years. It is a famous historical and cultural village in China. Meanwhile see a local tea maker and learn about how Wuyi Tea is made, and then practice in a local tea house.

Day 10Nanping -Xiapu (by train to Xiapu via Fuzhou)

In the early morning after nice breakfast, take the high-speed train to Fuzhou to visit Fujian Provincial Museum, located between the picturesque Fuzhou West Lake Park and Fuzhou Zuohai park. It is a provincial comprehensive museum integrating cultural relics protection, archaeology, history, natural specimens and art research.

After the museum trip then drive to Dongbi Village for sunset to enjoy golden color

Day 11Xiapu

With the early start Weijiang Village for sunrise. Also called Mantou (Steamed Bun) Hill, it is treated as a sacred place for shooting sunrise, hanging oysters, sunning kelp, and working fishermen to seize the rare panorama of “bright sunrise from a sea” with  the steamed-bund shaped hill. Later, drive to Dong'an Island which is called “Venice on the Sea”. Composed of thousands of fish tanks and hundreds of wooden houses, this village is the most concentrated fish farm with magnificent view. Also visit Banyueli Village, a traditional She Ethnic village

 

In the afternoon, visit Yantian Village, a main shooting place of local culture of fishingfamily. You can use your camera freely to record the real life and laboring scene of the piscatorial families who are called the “sea gypsies” for long time living on their own fishing boats in Xiapu

Day 12Departure

Time to say goodbbye. Wish you enjoy the trip and looking forwards to see you again.

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
