Day 1Beijing Arrival

Arrival in Beijing, our guide will greet you at the airport and transfer to hotel.Beijing, the capital of People’s Republic of China, is a fascinating place for tourists home and abroad. As one of China's four ancient capitals, with its profound history of 3000 years, Beijing is the cultural, political, and historical center of China. It is widely considered to be one of the most magnificent cities in the world.

Day 2Visit the Great Wall

As the most famous and popular site, we will start early at 7:00 before the big groups arrive. After 2hr's driving, enjoy the cable car ride to the wall is peaceful and scenic. It is a fantastic experience to walking on the well-maintained wall where you also need a lot of water or an umbrella in the 2hr's visiting. Lunch will be arranged in the courtyard at the foot of the Great Wall.

Drive back to the city and visit the Bird's Nest National Stadium and Water Cube Aquatic Centre en route. Back hotel around 6pm.

Day 3Beijing City Tour

Beijing is the political and cultural heart of China, and it has a rich history that mirrored in its spectacular palaces, temples and parks. Today after enjoying the delicious breakfast at the hotel, our tour guide will bring you to visit Tian'anmen Square, the largest city square in the world. Later visit The Forbidden City, the largest imperial palace in China during the Ming and Qing dynasties with a history of around 600 years. It was the Chinese royal palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. Then head to The Temple of Heaven which is located in the southern part of Beijing, and has been one of the holiest places for the whole country for more than five centuries. You will be able to enjoy a Beijing Roast Duck Dinner, before a fantastic Kungfu performance.

Day 4Train to Pingyao

Farewell to Beijing. and then, you will be escorted to the station and catch the train to Pingyao after a breakfast.

Day 5Visit Pingyao Ancient City Wall then Trian to Xian

As one of the four best-preserved ancient cities. Walking along the Pingyao Ancient City Wall, built with rammed earth inside and brick and stone outside, the ancient city walls measure 10 metres high and 6162.7 metres long with 3-5 metres wide tops. 

After visiting, say goodbye to Pingyao, and then your driver will take you to the train station to Xian.

Day 6Xi'an City Tour

Tour starts at 08:00 and then drive 1 hour to get close to the incredible Terracotta Warriors in China’s first Emperor’s Tomb built 2300 years ago,the most significant archaeological excavations of the 20th century.

After lunch in the local restaurant, head to ancient architecture and a holy place for Buddhists.- Big Goose Pagoda,The restored Buddha and building are beautiful with spectacular timber work and gilded features are recently built by donors, they make a fine job of explaining the role of Buddhism in China’s history.

Afterwards, drive to the Ancient City Wall, the most well-preserved city wall and the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. You will have a bird's-eye view of panorama of Xi'an city when wandering along the city wall.

Day 7Morning Train to Luoyang then Visit Longmen Grottoes

After breakfast, we will take the train to Luoyang. Upon arrival, head to Longmen Grottoes,  one of the finest examples of Chinese Buddhist art, which are as many as 100,000 statues within the 2,345 caves, ranging from an 1 inch (25 mm) to 57 feet (17 m) in height and nearly 2,500 stelaes and inscriptions. This is a visual feast for those who 'd like to visit Buddhist statues.

Day 8Luoyang City Tour, then Train to Chengdu

After breakfast,  we will head out to White Horse Temple (Baima Temple), considered by most believers as "the cradle of Chinese Buddhism" where you can enjoy all kinds of statues.

Then, move on to the next spot: Shaolin Temple, a fascinating place to learn about the origins of Buddhism and the discipline of Kung Fu. You will be amazed by the pagoda forest celebrating numerous eminent monks over 1200 years. 20mins Kung Fu Show bring all those action movies to life.

Day 9Chengdu City Tour

you will dip into Kuan & Zhai Alley, a relatively well-preserved ancient street in Qing Dynasty. It is a famous commercial and cultural pedestrain street in China. There are many delicious food, and you can enjoy your lunch here. 

Then visit today's final site Renming Park. The park was built in 1911. It is now a relaxing place for locals. Enjoy the delicacy scenery and appreciate various flower shows. Drink tea is a must-do thing for you. Spend one afternoon, order a pot of tea and do nothing but relax.

Walkthrough the Jinli Old Street to admire the architecture and unique local fun. Enjoy Sichuan cuisine for dinner at a local restaurant this evening.

Day 10Chengdu City Tour then Flight to Shanghai

Spend two-hour drive and  visit Leshan Giant Buddha. Built in the Tang Dynasty(618AD-907AD), Leshan Giant Buddha, with 71 metres high, is the largest statue of Buddha around the world. It is carved on the cliff of Lingyun Mountain with a delicate design of drainage system. 

Then head to next destination Mount Emei visiting Baoguo Temple. You will also take a side trip to Jieyin Hall, Golden Summit, Huazang Temple, Wannian Temple and Qingyin Pavilion. Then return to Chengdu. In the eveing, you can roam freely in the street near hotel and enjoy the slow life of Chengdu. 

Then, transfer to the airport to take the flight to Shanghai. Your Shanghai guide will be waiting to escort you back to your hotel for a good rest.

Day 11Shanghai City Tour

The classic tour will start from visiting a traditional Chinese Garden - Yu Garden established in the period of the Ming Dynasty(1368-1644). Though in a small size, it covers all the elements pavilions, halls, rockeries, ponds and corridors that a garden boast. Walk through the garden and enjoy a tranquil time by yourself. Then you can go to the nearby Yuyuan Market where you may find some interesting souvenirs.

Later, drop by the Jiangnan Silk Workshop to see silk production. then we will proceed to the former French Concession. Afterwards, you can admire the Bund that stretches along the Huangpu River and the bustling Nanjing Road.

Day 12Drive to Suzhou and Have City Tour

Morning drive Suzhou. The first spot is to visit Panmen. It is one of the "three landmarks of Pan Gate" with a history of more than 2500 years. Then proceed to visit the Humble Administrator's Garden, the largest private garden of Suzhou. Hang around and appreciate the fantastic garden with its delicate buliding techonlogy. 

Continue walk to the Suzhou Museum to see Chinese paintings, calligraphy, and handicrafts. This will be a unforgettable experience for you to have a deep understanding of traditional Chinese art. Some free time in the ancient Pingjiang Road, which is the most complete area in Suzhou Ancient City. Spend your rest of day at leisure.

Day 14End of Tour

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
