Day 1Xi'an Downtown Pickup + Private City Tour

Welcome to Xi'an, which is the oldest of China's Four Great Ancient Capitals, serving as the capital city of 13 dynasties spreading intermittently across a 1,100-year period from 221 BC. It is often called the birthplace of Chinese civilization. It was the eastern terminus of the Silk Road, and played a very important part in Chinese history. Today we will visit Shanxi Museumto discover the culture and history of China. Head to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda with panoramic Xi'an city at the top floor. Afterwards, drive to the City Wall, the most well-preserved city wall and the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Wandering through the tight and interesting Muslim Quarter Streets to experience the local lifestyle.


Our professional tour guide will meet you at your located hotel lobby, and your private day tour begin with Shaanxi Museum, which is a tribute to Shaanxi's glamorous imperial past. The museum building was designed in China's grand and elegant ancient Tang Dynasty (618-907) style. Continue to the Big Goose Pagoda, although it has been attacked by centuries of weather, war and seismic activity, which destroyed most of the original material of the structure, a pagoda by this name and style still exists on the site. You will have a bird's-eye view of panorama of Xi'an city when wandering along the City wall. Followed by the ancient Bell Tower, it is the most well-preserved ancient military defensive systems and the landmark of Xi'an. In the evening, visit the Muslim Quarter where street vendors selling all sorts of goods from souvenirs, hand crafted products and local snacks. You need to bargain with the vendors if you are buying goods.

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
