Day 1Urumqi Arrival

Welcome to Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region and the farthest land from any ocean. It is the heaven of travelers for its beautiful natural scenery, profound cultural deposits and special local customs and practices. Upon arrival, be transferred to the hotel and check in. The rest of day is free at leisure.

Day 2Drive to Sayram Lake (550kms)

After breakfast, drive 4hrs to visit the Sayram Lake, which is known as the last drop of tears of the Atlantic. The largest alpine lake in Xinjiang. Stroll around the lake and enjoythe blooming wildflowers and the beautiful grassland around the lake.

Day 3Cross Guozigou Bridge, visit Lavender Farm, then drive to Tekes (260kms)

Today we say goodbye to Sayram Lake and transfer to Tekes, on the way you will see the famous Guozigou(fruit valley), hike around the valley, step on the wooden deck trails, that will lead you to the most scenic spots with views of Guozigou Bridge and Lake


After lunch, continue our driving and you will have the opportunity to enjoy the Lavender Farm en route from June to Sept.

Day 4Visit Kakajun Prairie then Drive to Naraty (280kms)

Today start  journey from the ingenious Kalajun Prairie, which is as beautiful as in a poem or a picture. Kalajun, in Kazak, means "a dark wilderness". There are springs densely distributed here. Every year, from May to September. The traditional lifestyle exudes a unique charm. You can take the photos there and then overnight in Naraty.

Day 5Visit Naraty Grassland then Drive back to Yining (260kms)

Get up early this morning to see a typical river bed grassland—Naraty Grassland, one of four famous grassland in the world.


Prairie is as beautiful as in a poem or a picture. There are springs densely distributed here. Every year, from May to September, with flowers all blossoming out here and numerous herds gathering around, a great number of tourists domestic and abroad are attracted here. The Narat Prairie is also called "Deer Garden" in history and an ideal place for people of the pasture to exchange materials and hold cultural activities.


Ride the horse in the vast grassland. Explore the traditional Kazakh way of life is also an activity that you can't miss in this place. Afterwards, bus transfer to Yining for overnight stay.

Day 6Drive back to Urumqi (700kms)

Today we will be driving back to Urumqi, enjoy the scenery on the way. Upon arrival, transfer you to the downtown hotel and check in. Spend your rest of day at leisure.

Day 7End of Tour

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
