Day 1Private Kashgar Day Tour

Welcome to Kashgar, which means "green glasshouse or jade city", a place of strategic importance in the history of Xinjiang, contributing greatly to the exchange of eastern and western cultures. Today you will enjoy a full day excursion of Kashgar. Pay a visit to Id Kah Mosque, the largest Mosque in China and the most sacred mosque for the locals to practise their Islamic activities at 09:00. Then drive to Sunday Bazaar at East Gate of Kashgar the largest one in south Xinjiang. Continue the visiting to Old Town and relax in the Hundred-years Tea house, taste the local rose tea and nang-bread! Tour will end up with visiting the Handicraft Street.


Our professional tour guide will meet you at your located hotel lobby, and your private day tour start to Id Kah Mosque with strong ethnic style and religious features. Next stop is Sunday Bazaar, the covered bazaar sells the clothing, nuts, household goods and many things out of your imagination. It is quite interesting to witness their typical methods of bargin. Stroll around the Old Town and have a cup of tea at the Hundred-years Tea house, which remains popular among residents and tourists alike. It maintains very reasonable prices, with a pot of ordinary tea sold at five yuan. For two more yuan, one can also purchase nang, a kind of crusty pancake common in Xinjiang. The cheap snack is popular among locals, while tourists usually prefer slightly more expensive medicinal teas, such as those containing rose, saffron, honey, and other ingredients. Continue the tour to the Handicraft Street gathered hundreds of handicraft workshops, which has become a boutique exhibition for handicraft in Kashgar and Central Asia.

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
