Day 1Urumqi City Tour

Morning pick you up from the hotel, the good day begins.


Firs we will head to Xinjiang Regional Museum, home to many archaeological treasures of the Silk Road and Xinjiang's minority cultures. A visit to the museum need not be dictated by the seasons. You can come here whenever to see the amazing human remains and all the other precious relics, and you will learn about the history of Xinjiang and its peculiar ethnic customs. 


After that, you will see the stroll around the Red Hill Park, and enjoy your leisure time. Modern entertainment facilities and ethnic performances bring a fresh and lively atmosphere to the park. On the peak of the hill, you will have the whole city of Urumqi before your eyes!


Afterwards, today's highlight is that you will pay a visit to the biggest bazaar in the world Xinjiang International Bazaar where you can watch Uygur dance show and taste local delicacies. Bazaar refers to a market or fair in Arabic. There are over 3,000 booths in Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar for selling garments, musical instruments, potteries, jewellery, nuts, fruits, and carpets. Other than shopping, you may attend the Banquet and Performance Theatre, taste snacks at the food square, join the excitement at Merry Square, and get a bird's eye view of the whole bazaar from the No. 1 Sightseeing Tower.

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
