Day 1Arrival in Hohhot

You will be met by your guide and driver in Mongolian costume at the airport, and then be transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is for you to relax and prepare for your amazing tour in Mongolia!

Day 2Visit Xilamuren Grassland(93km,2hrs)

Today we will drive to the Xilamuren Grassland, pass through the Yinshan Mountains and the Big Green Hill, and enjoy the natural scenery of the Big Green Hill along the way. Upon arrival, go to the Flower Sea of the Xilamuren Grassland Ranch to learn the love story of the third daughter of Genghis Khan, the Princess of Jianguo, and then visit the local livestock garden to experience the grassland archery and shooting experience, take photos in Mongolian costumes, learn Mongolian, taste Mongolian milk tea and other entertainment activities. 

For lunch, we will enjoy the first Mongolian court banquet - Zhama banquet, and wear Mongolian aristocratic costumes throughout the meal (serving of individual dishes), and enjoy Mongolian song and dance performances, the horse-head violin performances, Mongolian long tunes, Mongolian Hoomei, etc. 

After lunch, we are going to red koal obo , the largest Obo in the grassland. Then, sacrificing Aobao, viewing folk customs, and enjoy livestock of goats, sheep, cattle, horses, camels (including Mongolian men's three performances), watch "The Legend of Monan" - the Spirit of the Golden Gobi Horse, and the large-scale live equestrian drama of prairie praying for blessings. After the visit, go to the Mongolian yurt camp to carry out the most solemn welcome ceremony for the Mongolian people to receive friends from afar - the dismounting wine welcome ceremony, and attend the bonfire party after dinner. Overnight in the grassland yurts (the best traditional yurts in the grassland).

Day 3Wudang Monastery (147km,3hrs) and Drive to Baotou (50km,1hrs)

Watch the sunrise on the grassland in the morning, and have free activities after breakfast on the grassland (you can choose to participate in horseback riding / wheeling experience at your own expense). After the activities, drive to Wudang Monastery, one of China's key cultural relics protection units and one of China's four famous Tibetan Buddhist temples. Wudang Monastery is as famous as the Potala Palace in Tibet, the Thar Temple in Qinghai, and the Kangbuling Temple in Gansu. It is the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in Inner Mongolia. Then, we drive to Baotou for overnight stay.

Day 4Yinken Xiangsha Bay (100km,2hrs)

After breakfast, we will go to the Baotou Museum of the National Secondary Museum of China (closed on Monday) to visit the Inner Mongolia Ancient Rock Painting Exhibition, Tibetan Buddhist Thangka Art Exhibition, Baotou Ancient Stone Carving Cultural Relics Exhibition and Rare Earth Museum. After the visit, we are going to the Kubuqi Desert, the seventh largest desert in China, to Yinken Xiangsha Bay (including tickets and cableways), which is known as "Little Dubai in China". After arriving, we stayed in Lotus Resort Hotel, and then went to Fairy Send Island or Happy Send Island, Experience the free leisure tour of the two islands (including camel riding, desert surfing car, desert motorcycle, desert golf, desert bicycle, desert swing, aerial slide, Ordos wedding of the world's intangible cultural heritage and many other entertainment performances). Then, return to the lotus resort hotel.

Day 5 Mausoleum of Genghis Khan (112km, 1.5hrs)

After breakfast, you can freely visit Fairy Send Island or Happy Send Island in the desert. After the visit, drive to the Genghis Khan Mausoleum, the national intangible cultural heritage of China, the top 40 tourist attractions in China, and the world's largest tourist area with the theme of Genghis Khan culture and Mongolian culture. Learn about the legendary experience of Genghis Khan, the first generation of the Great Khan of the Mongolian Empire, through the Mongolian history scroll.Then, we drive to Ordos for overnight stay.

Day 6Hasuhai(200km,2.5hrs)then Drive to Hohhot(85km,1hrs)

Today we drive to Hasuhai, and then take a small train to visit the lake. For lunch, taste the local characteristic food Hasuhai Whole Fish Feast. After lunch, return to Hohhot, visit the Inner Mongolia Museum with ethnic characteristics, visit the most authoritative exhibition group of northern nomadic nationalities in China, and the largest Cretaceous dinosaur fossils in the world, to understand the historical process of the origin, development and sublimation of the Mongolian Plateau. After that, go to Hohhot, the ancient buildings of the Ming and Qing dynasties, and go to Tongshun Alley, the place where the Internet is popular, to taste the food of the first street of Qingcheng cuisine, and feel the old taste of Qingcheng; Go to the old street and feel the ancient charm of Qingcheng. Then, we drive to Hohhot for overnight stay.

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
