Day 1Lanzhou Arrival

Welcome to Lanzhou, the capital city of Gansu Province. Upon arriving, you will be met at the airport and helped to checked in the nice hotel.

Day 2Milarepa Palace Buddhist Temple, Langmu Temple (390kms)

An exciting day for exploring the Milarepa Palace Buddhist Temple, Milarepa is odd in the Tibetan world in that different spiritual leaders from varying sects are worshipped on each floor. The Milarepa's ground-floor is a powerful spectacle: a galaxy of Bodhisattvas, Buddhist statues and yak-butter lamps illuminating celestial figures. Thereafter, proceed the tour to  Langmu Temple, Langmu Temple belongs to Tibetan Buddhism. One of the main pagodas of the temple lays the human body of the fifth Living Buddha, which is the best preserved one with longest time, though after more than two hundred years the skin of the Living Buddha is still elastic. Spend the night in Langmusi.

Day 3Enjoy the sunrise of Langmusi, then drive to Zhagana (100kms)

A beautiful memory of the day begins with the sunrise in Langmusi. Then we will drive all the way to the next stop Zhagana and enjoy your leisure time in this quiet village. Zhagana is located in Diebu County of Gannan, known for green mountains, clear water, layers of ridge stacked chapter, flying springs, waterfall, holy lake, slope peaks, and grand passes. There are four villages in Zhagarna. Villages are full of forests, minerals, water energy, grassland, rare animals and plants. Zhagana is a rare treasure house of green resources in Gansu Province, with beautiful mountains and waters, outstanding people, beautiful scenery, wide forests and lush paddock.

Day 4Visit Ruoergai Flower Lake and Sunset of the Yellow River (200kms)

The rising sun ushered in a new day. Walking around the village, See the beautiful sunrise and morning fog. Today we will say farewell to Zhagana and drive you to visit the Ruoergai Flower Lake, one of the three major wetlands in China. like a magnificent emerald inlaid on the northwest border of Sichuan, As dawn descends upon the glistening waters of the lake, magnificent birds can be seen taking a flight. Avian species visit the water body every winter. After the visiting, we will take you to Tangke County and enjoy the sunset at The first bay of the Yellow River, the most beautiful section of the Yellow River. At sunset, the whole valley was covered with gold, and wild flowers were in full bloom on the Bank of the Yellow River.

Day 5Full day exploration to Nianbao Yuze Geopark (220kms)

This morning we will depart from the hotel and drive to the mysterious NianBao YuZe Geopark, also known as Guoluo Mountain, It is a famous sacred mountain at the junction of Sichuan, Gansu and Qinghai provinces. The spectacular ice body and steep rocks make it more mysterious. When people come here, they will feel that they have really returned to nature. Today you will have a whole day to explore this sacred mountain.

Day 6Explore the Niangma Mounastery and Guomang Wetland (340kms)

The journey today will begin from the Niangma Monastery, which was founded in 1834 and belongs to the “Red Religion”. The "red religion" and "yellow religion" of Tibetan Buddhism are simply different from the wearing color of monks. Monks of the red sect wear red cassocks and red hats. When come to niangma monastery, you will learn about the architecture and culture of early Tibetan Buddhism. Next travel to the Guomang Wetland,  the birthplace and water conservation area of Tao River, It is of great significance in the water source protection of the Yellow River Basin, also an important habitat for migratory birds to hibernate. The famous Tang fan ancient road, tea horse ancient road and silk road have all passed through it. After the visiting, we will drive to Xiahe and enjoy a walking tour at Sangke Grassland, it is a part of dajiutan grassland in Sangke township. Surrounded by mountains and an open flat Alpine grassland in the middle, Sangke grassland is one of tourist attraction. It has abundant water and grass, flocks of cattle and sheep under the blue sky and white clouds make a natural pastoral scenic.

Day 7Visit Labrang Mounastery, then back to Lanzhou (240kms)

Enjoy the Labrang Monastery surrounded by the beautiful sunrise. We will arrange the English Speaking Lama guide you through the Labrang monastery, the most populous monks outside of Tibet. You will stay at Thangka Sunning Terrace that is one of a good place to view the monastery and surrounding scenery. Inside the monastery, apart from magnificent Buddha Stupas and wall paintings, prayer wheels are also the must-see spot. The whole monastery is surrounded by wheels, walk along the corridor, rotate the wheels and pray for chasing away the troubles. After the visiting, we will drive back to Lanzhou. On the way, pay a visit to Linxia Ba Fang Shi San Xiang, an ancient street with Hezhou ethnic customs. It combines Hui brick carvings, Han wood carvings and Tibetan color paintings to show people the life of Muslims. When arrive in Lanzhou, you will be transferred to the airport and catch the flight back to your sweet home.

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
