Day 1Chengdu Arrival

Welcome to Chengdu, the Teahouse-hopping and Chilies in China. Upon arriving in Chengdu, our tour guide will meet you and escort you to the hotel for a rest. The rest of the day is your own leisure time.


Note:

Shuangliu International Airport is located in Shuangliu County, southwest of Chengdu City, about 16 kilometres away from Chengdu City.

Day 2Chengdu - Leshan - Mt. Emei

Let's start our fantastic Sichuan Mountain Culture Tour. On this day, you will be driven about 2 hours to Leshan and visit Leshan Giant Buddha carved out of the cliffs at the confluence of the Dadu, Minjiang River and Qingyi Rivers. After that, you will be driven to Mt. Emei to visit Baoguo Monastery. You will stay overnight at the foot of Mt. Emei.

  • It takes 2hrs and 15 mins ( 143.5 km ) from Chengdu to Leshan.

  • It takes 54 mins ( 40 km ) from Leshan Giant Buddha to Mt.Emei

Day 3Mt. Emei - Chengdu

After enjoying the breakfast at the hotel, our professional tour guide will take you to visit Mt. Emei, the highest of China's four holy mountains. The sightseeing bus will bring you to Leidongping first, where you need to walk to Jieyin Palace to take the cable car up to appreciate the natural scenery around the Golden Summit, and descend by the cable car later.

Take the bus to Wannian Temple parking lot, where you will take the cable car up to visit the Wannian (Myriad Years) Temple which is the field for Samantabhadra. Walkthrough Qingyin (Pure Note) Pavilion, the biggest natural ecology reserve area for monkeys.

Afterwards, get to the parking lot to take the sightseeing bus down to the foot of the mountain. After the tour of Mt. Emei, you will be driven back to Chengdu.

Day 4Chengdu City Attractions - Departure

Get up early and then hop in a car to explore the Panda Base, which is 15 kilometres away from the urban area. It is the only panda base in China. If you are animal lovers, this tour is an ideal one for you. You will have a chance to be a volunteer to feed and clean panda and observe their behaviour closely. This is must be a memorable experience for your whole life. followed by a trip to Du Fu's Thatched Roof Cottage and the Wenshu Temple, where you can spend some time sitting in its tea house to enjoy a cup of tea and absorb the special atmosphere of Chengdu.

Then, you will be escorted to the airport for your onward flight.

  • There are many buses directly leading to the Panda Base. You can take them nearby: Panda base - Wuhou Temple, panda base -Sanxingdui, and Panda Base - Airport shuttle bus.

  • It takes 27 mins ( 14.4 km ) from Chengdu City to the Panda Base.

  • It takes 45 mins ( 19.3 km ) from Panda Base to the Du Fu's Thatched Roof Cottage.

  •  It takes 29 mins ( 8.1 km ) from Du Fu's Thatched Roof Cottage to Wenshu Temple

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
