Day 1Private Dunhuang Day Tour

It has a long history and brilliant culture. Today we will visit the Mogao Grottoes, also known as the Thousand-Buddha Grottoes, listed in the UNESCO for the magnificent buddhism art. Visit Echoing Sand Mountain & Crescent Lake, a peculiar natural phenomenon occurs when standing on top of the dune. You can walk around the bustling Shazhou Night Market with a set of local cuisine and products.

Our professional tour guide will meet you at your located hotel lobby, and your private day tour to Mogao Grottoes continue with the driving of 20-mins to entrance of the Mogao Grottoes. Here you can enjoy the magnificent grottoes and mural art, and learn the history of Buddhism in Dunhuang through explanation and film display, which is the best option for tourists to visit Dunhuang.

Coming out from Mogao Grottoes, continue the tour to Echoing Sand Mountain & Crescent Lake. Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
