Day 1Chengdu Arrival

Welcome to Sichuan! Your adventure begins the moment you land at Shuangliu International Airport, where your friendly guide and driver will greet you with warm smiles. They'll whisk you away to your comfortable hotel, giving you time to relax or explore the vibrant streets of Chengdu at your leisure. As the sun sets, join your Tibetan guide and fellow travelers for a delightful welcome dinner—a perfect start to your unforgettable tour!

Day 2The Gateway to Tibet

Rise and shine early for a day packed with breathtaking sights! After breakfast, we'll hit the road by 7 AM, winding through Ya'an, Luding, and Kangding. Marvel at the mighty Dadu River and conquer Zheduo Mountain, your first taste of the Tibetan Plateau at 4,298 meters. Locals call it the "First Pass of Kangba", and you'll soon see why!  

By afternoon, arrive in Xinduqiao, a photographer's dream. Here, every turn reveals a postcard-perfect scene—golden poplar trees, rolling grasslands, and charming Tibetan villages bathed in perfect light. Don't forget your camera; this 10-kilometer stretch is pure magic!

Day 3Land of Nomads

Did you sleep like a baby in Xinduqiao's serene beauty? Before we leave, capture a few more shots of this paradise. Then, we'll journey west through the dramatic Yalong River valley and lush forests, stopping in Yajiang before reaching Litang.  

At 4,000 meters, Litang's vast grasslands are dotted with yaks, sheep, and nomadic tents. Visit the revered Ke'er Monastery, a gem of Tibetan Buddhism, before crossing the towering Haizishan Mountain (4,700 meters). By nightfall, you'll be cozy in Batang, ready for tomorrow's grand entry into Tibet!

Day 4Entering Tibet

Today, Tibet welcomes you! Feel the thrill as we traverse the legendary "Three Parallel Rivers" region, where the Jinsha, Lancang, and Nu Rivers flow side by side—a UNESCO World Heritage spectacle. Brace yourself for rugged roads and jaw-dropping views!  

We'll climb Lawu Mountain (4,358 meters) and Dongda Mountain (5,008 meters), where snow-capped peaks frame the zigzagging Sichuan-Tibet Highway. As the sun dips, rest in Zogong, dreaming of the adventures ahead.

Day 5Hidden Treasures Await

Get ready for a day of discovery! We'll cross grasslands, snow mountains, and valleys, spotting yaks, horses, and maybe even wildlife. The highlight? Conquering Yela Mountain (4,839 meters), the Hengduan Range's most treacherous pass, before descending the thrilling "Seventy-two Bends" to the Nu River.  

By evening, arrive at Rakwa Tso, a deep blue glacial lake. Stay in a lakeside guesthouse and let the tranquil waters lull you to sleep.

Day 6Glaciers and Canyons

Wake up to Rakwa Tso's serene beauty, then journey along the roaring Parlung Tsangpo River. The star of today? Midui Glacier, hailed as China's most beautiful glacier! Its shimmering ice towers will leave you spellbound before we settle in Bomi for the night.

Day 7Enchanted Forests

Today is a feast for the senses! Traverse the Parlung Tsangpo Canyon and enter the fairy-tale Lulang Forest, where pines and spruces blanket the plateau. Visit Zhaxigang Village, sip butter tea with locals, and snap photos of Mt. Namcha Barwa (7,782 meters) from Lulang's viewing platform. After crossing Sejila Pass (4,728 meters), we'll arrive in Nyingchi, Tibet's "Switzerland".

Day 8The Road to the Holy City

Bid farewell to Nyingchi as we follow the Nyang River to Basomtso Lake, where temples dot island gems. Then, conquer Mila Pass (5,013 meters)—your final mountain challenge—before Lhasa's valley unfolds. The grand Potala Palace will take your breath away as we check into your hotel. Rest up; tomorrow, Lhasa awaits!

Day 10Lakes and Monasteries

Today, you'll embark on a breathtaking journey from Lhasa to Shigatse, traversing some of Tibet's most stunning landscapes. As you wind along the scenic roads, the mesmerizing Yamdrok-tso Lake unfolds before your eyes—a shimmering turquoise jewel cradled by snow-capped peaks. Stop to soak in the serene beauty and capture unforgettable photos.

In the afternoon, arrive in Gyantse, a historic town where time seems to stand still. Here, you'll explore the magnificent Pelkor Monastery, a spiritual sanctuary adorned with intricate murals and ancient relics. Don't miss the iconic Kumbum Stupa, a masterpiece of Tibetan Buddhist architecture with its 108 chapels and stunning mandala designs.

By evening, you'll reach Shigatse, Tibet's vibrant second city. Check into your hotel and have a good rest.

Day 11Everest Beckons

The adventure continues as you set off toward the mighty Himalayas! After a pleasant lunch stop in Lhatse, the road leads you higher into the mountains. Hold your breath as you reach the Pang La Pass (5,200m), where—on a clear day—you'll be rewarded with your first awe-inspiring glimpse of Mt. Everest, standing tall above the surrounding peaks.

Descending through rugged valleys, you'll arrive at Rongpuk, the world's highest monastery settlement. Tonight, you'll stay near Everest Base Camp, where the crisp mountain air and endless starry skies create a magical atmosphere. Bundle up and step outside—the Milky Way shines brighter here than anywhere else on Earth.

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
