Day 1Arrive in Lijiang

Welcome to Lijiang, which is a place inhabited by many ethnic groups. In addition to the Han nationality, there are 12 native ethnic minorities and 22 ethnic minorities; It is also a famous tourist city with world cultural heritage Lijiang ancient city. When you arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel check in.

Day 2Tiger Leaping Gorge Hiking Adventure

In the morning after the breakfast, we'll drive to the starting point of Tiger leaping gorge. (as its friday, you might wake up early for the local market if you like)

Today, let's hike the Tiger Leaping Gorge - one of the deepest gorges on the planet (3900m depth), and it has the best hiking trail in the Lijiang area. Enjoy the marvelous view of nature along the way.

Then, we'll hike down to have lunch at a local Naxi family guesthouse.

After lunch, we'll start the most challenging part of the hike - 28 bends zigzag trail up to the top of 2670m. See beautiful mountain view. It's all worth it! Enjoy the view, rest a bit and hike down to the beautiful bamboo pine forest. End of today's trek!

Arrive at the Tea horse guest house (茶马客栈) and stay the night here.

Day 3Tiger Leaping Gorge Hiking, then back to Lijiang

Today we'll start the day by hiking down to the most beautiful part of Tiger leaping gorge. Here, we can see the beautiful riverbank & the middle gorge, which look like a big heaven gate.

Then, trek to the Walnut Grove, which is a small village between the Upper & Middle Section of Tiger Leaping Gorge. 

Drive back to Lijiang and stay the night here.

Day 4Lijiang Free Day

Today is relax for you to recover and enjoy the old town of Lijiang. 

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the ancient city of Lijiang can be traced back to more than 800 years ago. Besides its unique architecture and local ethnic culture, it is also known for its orderly arrangement of bridges and waterways. Walk along the winding cobbled paths — it is said that you won't get lost as long as you follow the water.

Day 5Fly to Jinghong and visit Golden Pagoda

After breakfast, take the flight to Jinghong and Meet your guide in the airport arrivals hall – We'll have your private vehicle on standby ready to transfer you to the hotel in Jinghong, Xishuangbanna. In the afternoon visit the Jinghong Golden Pagoda and wandering in the Starlight Night Market. featuring local food and creative handicrafts by the young. Most of the stalls are festooned with colorful oiled paper umbrellas, which evoke a feeling of being in Southeast Asia.

Day 6Wild Elephant Valley, then transfer to Manzhang Village

Moving deeper into unpaved territory.

Enjoy your day trip in Wild Elephant Valley. with its dense forest and its rich variety of animals and birds, many of which are rarely seen outside it, is one of the few places in the world where wildlife can be viewed in its natural habitat, where it is us humans who are "caged in". Visitors can watch the wild animals and birds go about their daily lives with as little interference as possible from us humans. All of which makes Xishuangbanna Wild Elephant & Nature Reserve something of an open-air museum, but an open-air museum with a difference: these creatures cavort about in their natural habitat, not in a man-made, city zoo habitat

In the afternoon, transfer to Manzhang Village, the old Dai Village. Immerse yourself in the traditions of one of the oldest ethnic groups – the Dai people. Experience slow-wheel pottery making and ancient manual paper making.

Day 7Menglun Tropical Botanical Garden, Manting Park

After breakfast transfer to Xishuangbanna Menglun Tropical Botanical Garden. It is the only 5A scenic spot in Xishuangbanna, with beautiful tropical plants and natural scenery.

In the afternoon, transfer to the Manting Park and General Buddists Temple which located on the southwest side of Xishuangbanna Manting Park. The area is not large. It can be entered free of charge from the south side of the temple gate, or it can be extended from the south gate by the road sign of Manting Park.

Day 8Visit Mengle Temple and Nannuo Mountain

The other amazing visiting in Xishuanbanna to Mengle Temple in the morning and Nannuo Mountain in the afternoon.

Covering a floorage of 65.8 acres, Mengle Buddhist Temple lies along a mountain and has a drop of 122.8 meters in the shape of a Buddhist sitting in meditation. Mengle Buddhist Temple features the story of Sakyamuni and activities that are smartly combined with Buddhist architecture and landscape, fully revealing the history and tradition of Theravada Buddhism. Standing on the square of Wan Fo Tower, people will have a panoramic view of Jinghong city proper.

Well-known for its long history of tea cultivation, Nannuo Mountain (南糯山) has gone through a series of transformations but remains a place for pilgrimage. Its trees, many aged between 200 and 500 years, produce some of the best pu'er tea in the province. Driven by a powerful urge to see the ancient groves for ourselves

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking Mid March—End Oct are the best time to visit Silk Road. And we strongly suggest you come in May, June, October to avoid the heat and crowd. No need to worry about high altitude along the Silk Road. We will prepare Oxygen bags if the package includes Xiahe, Qinghai Lake and Taxkorgan County.
